Transformers Rumors
While it is not rare for a Transformer to die in the Transformers franchise (e.g., The Fallen, Megatron [even though he came back]) a recent rumor indicates that another will join that list in Transformers 3: Starscream. This heard-through-the-grapevine rumor was posted on the website Strictly Fitted, where a member of their website met Lester Speight (Gears of War 2) who plays Hardcore Eddie in the film, who is rumored to kill the giant robot. Due to the status of the rumor, take this one with salt for now until we can have something more substantial.
TaoBao member Toad Digital has put up two new auctions showing off never-before-seen figures, which are BotCon 2010 exclusives. One of the figures is a repaint of Transformers Energon Scorponok, which was previously rumored to hit the streets. The second figure is a blue repaint of Energon Downshift. With BotCon happening this week, we will be sure to find out of these figures are exclusives quite soon! Take a look at the figures still within their plastic wrappings after the jump.
Images are flowing from the Transformers 3 set in Chicago this week. Get a look at what AintItCoolNews has posted from one of thier readers. They are walking the line on this one. Citing it could just a filming prop or some Russian Transformer? This would the USA versus Russia plot line that Bay recently hinted at in the news. It looks goofy as all heck, almost like Optimus Primal? You'll have to look at this one and decide for yourself.
Thanks to catz of TFW who has posted some more rumors giving support the the Generation 1 Seacons we reported on previously. According to the post, these are slated to be Hasbro reissue that will be offered this summer. Additionally, catz adds there are also plans for a Target exclusive Universe 3 pack that will include classics molds for Rodimus, Galvatron and Cyclonus. These items are very likely to be on display at BotCon 2010 that will be happening in a couple weeks.
Thanks to our good friend and reliable source for all sorts of hot Transformers tips and tricks about what coming soon. His latest Twitter post gives us some support for the rumor circulation about a scaled up robot Scorpion figure in the works. According to the Tweet this figure has been revealed as the Energon Scorponok mold being offered in a limited production of 1000.
As the world turns, so do the rumors of who will replace Megan Fox in Transformers 3 as Shia LaBeouf's main love interest. Show Biz Spy has dropped the name of Katie Cassidy onto the table of revolving attractive women. Ms. Cassidy recently worked with Director Michael on Nightmare on Elm Street. Meanwhile Geek Week points Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, citing movie insiders. Ms. Whiteley were previously tossed around when the news of Ms. Fox's departure first arose. Next, there has been a rumor floating around why she left the film in the first place. Read more.
Updated: Ms. Fox says she it was her decision to leave Transformers 3, reports People, citing spokespeople for the actress. "She wishes the franchise the best." According to Deadline Hollywood, citing an insider, Paramount Pictures has decided not to pick up the option on Megan Fox's contract for Transformers 3 and will begin to search for a new female lead immediately. The gossip website reports that the decision was "ultimately" Director Michael Bay's decision. Read more.
Thanks to YouTube members savwafair2012 who has posted a video from the new Transformers Movie. Savy sneeks on the set of the new Transformers 3 and bring's you this awesome Truck Stunt Footage. Filmed on location at the Howard Huges Air Feild.
Check out the truck stunt that shows the vehicle lauched from a ramp that then crased into a ball of fire. The person behind the camera says it was Transformers 3, but nothing can be seen to confirm it is.
Thanks to Twitter user "Staci424," we have some photographic information pointing that the Hummer H2 alternate mode for Ratchet in Transformers 3 might be getting a makeover. The image shows the vehicle being hauled somewhere and show a lighter green Hummer H2 with white stripes. It doesn't seem like the Peterbilt, the alternate mode for Optimus Prime, behind the Hummer has not changed at all.
Caveat: Take this with a substantial spoonful of salt before getting your hopes up here. S250 has posted on his Twitter page speculating that the re-release of Unicron with a different head mold by TakaraTomy might be the third figure in Takara's Welcome to Transformers 2010 campaign. Read more.
A report by "Keroshino" from the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo 2010 claims that Tony Todd hinted that he may play the role of a human in the upcoming Transformers 3, which would give the actor another role beyond The Fallen in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Mr. Todd revealed in an interview back in February that he would return to the third installment of the robot franchise. Read more.
Update: An Andersen AFB spokesman has dismissed these rumors. There have been reports that next month, May 17, 2010, Transformers 3 will begin shooting, and if a recent report turns out to be true, one of the stops on the principal photography tour will be Andersen Air Force Base in the island of Guam. An airman has tipped Comic Book Movie that he has "received an email stating that Dreamworks is looking for 20 airmen from Andersen to be extras." The airman, who goes by "supershaggy" does not specify a timeframe for the shooting of the film, but given the location of the island, it will most likely take place when the crew heads overseas to film in Africa, Moscow, and China.
According to an auction on the Chinese auction website TaoBao, the original rumor of the Transformers Collectors Club releasing a BotCon 2010 exclusive figure named Rapido turns out to be true after all. The auction posted includes an image of a red version of Universe 2.0 Deluxe Silverstreak (a non-Police version of the Universe Prowl figure). Read more.
Thanks to S250 others this week who have helped piece together some news that Rapido very well may be one of the BotCon 2010 exclusive action figures being offered this year. Rumors of a G2 theme have been supported recent by S250 on his twitter account as well. It is believed that Repido will be a repaint of the Classics Prowl action figure.
Thanks to Anonymous on 4chan who has posted an interesting image that may give some validity to the rumors of the Power-Core Transformers action figures coming to life. The name originally surfaced as a trademark filing from Hasbro. Since then a number of posts and mentions have been made around the net trying to give this concept wings or debunk it.
When it rains it pours. We've seen this enough now to know there is a pattern. We get a whole bunch of news and all of a sudden a fake script gets leaked that has nothing to do with the actual movie. Then it turns out the be a lot like the final product. Coincidence? Well, here it is like clockwork. A third leaked script for the third Transformers movie. With nearly 2 years to go, read it and prepare for the whine festival that's gong to ensue. Just how you like it.
Thanks to a some sharp-eyed forum members, there is a strong possibility that Transformers: War for Cybertron the upcoming Transformers game from Activision, will also come with a toyline! A lone image of an unpainted prototype figure in vehicle mode was posted on KOToys back in October, which we simply disregarded as a possibly unproduced toy. However, with such a close resemblance of the figure to the Optimus Prime vehicle mode featured in the game trailer, there is quite a large possibility that the game will be accompanied with a toyline. Take a look at the comparison images provided by "timothyVritchey" after the jump.
