Toy Fair 2010 - Transformers Speed Stars & Stealth Force

By bwbm on Monday, February 15, 2010

Live from Toy Fair, we were provided some looks at the future of Robot Power Machines, which has been re-branded as Speed Stars. We are also going to getting a new line called Stealth Force, which provides a new playability. Stealth Force features vehicle-only Transformers that, when activated, transforms into a battle mode, providing sounds and lights.

Speed Stars

As mentioned above, Robot Powered Machines (RPM) will be rebranded as Speed Stars. Bumblebee will be getting his own track set, Bumblebee Track Set. The track set has a single loop and comes with an exclusive Bumblebee vehicle that can only be obtained with this set. Once the car completes the loop, the vehicle will fly and crash into a Megatron, causing it to "blast apart" onto the floor in pieces. We will also see new designs of Speed Stars vehicles. A new design is also available, which sports bigger wheels so the vehicles can roll in vehicle mode and when the underside with the robot design is exposed.

Stealth Force

A new line designed for kids 4 and up will feature vehicle modes only, but when a button is pressed, the figure will morph into battle mode and reveal weapons and sounds. Figures confirmed so far are Megatron, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Soundwave. There weren't any nameplates on the figures, so there will also be a Jeep-looking vehicle, a heavy duty SUV, and a sports car.

We work really hard to be the best resource for all your Transformers news and reviews every day. Keep your browser dialed to Tformers.com for updates as they happen.

I don't see them selling around here either, and don't really expect to keep seeing them in a year or two unless that changes. These gun cars and whatevers to me are the same as the Battle Bumpers which is a concept they'be been experimenting with and adding to since they first showed ... read more

The Megatron face on the alt Mode is one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. (link) I cannot help but think of the that movie "The Thing"

I don't care for these one way or another, but it's kind of odd that Hasbro makes toys to compete with other toys within the same toy line.

You're right of course about them taking a shot, because it's their job to make the profits where they can. I just don't get all of the ancillary material. I figured my son, who is a big hotwheels/matchbox fan, would go for the RPMs but the cross marketing is lost on him. Do those th... read more

Can't blame them for taking a shot though. Not like we have to buy any of it. I could get behind a new MASK line BTW

Excellent, Hasbro moves one step closer to making new M.A.S.K. toys.

I like the Power Force vehicles in the way that I like some of the similar larger Hotwheels Battleforce 5 stuff, but to me Hasbro is trying to compete with too many different markets with this stuff. Why else would they need Hotwheels-esque RPMs and this stuff that directly competes with the dieca... read more

These arent really my type of thing. I do like the wide range of characters that they're using though. If I ever see them on clearance I might be intrested in some of those gun cars as assault drones.
